Delta Online News

You can now play SNES games on your Nintendo Switch thanks to Nintendo adding 20 Super Nintendo games to Switch Online. Nintendo is promising to add more SNES games to Switch Online over time, but there’s some gems in the first set of games released.

What Is Switch Online?

In September 2018, Nintendo launched Switch Online. This is a subscription service for Nintendo Switch owners, letting you play multiplayer games online, use online cloud saves, and access older games from Nintendo’s extensive back catalog.

Until now, this has meant NES games such as Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda, and Excitebike. However, Nintendo is now adding Super Nintendo games to the pile, making Switch Online even better value for money.

How to Play SNES Games on Your Switch

Nintendo has now added the first set of SNES games to Switch Online. These are available to all Switch Online subscribers who are paying to access the service. The SNES games will join the existing NES games, rather than replace them.

The full list of Super Nintendo games available on Switch Online are as follows:

  • Brawl Brothers
  • Breath of Fire
  • Demon’s Crest
  • F-Zero
  • Joe and Mac 2: Lost in the Tropics
  • Kirby’s Dream Course
