We’ve all been there. You’re trying to figure out when your next meeting is, and your internet drops out.
Thankfully, that won’t be a problem anymore, as Google Calendar is rolling out offline support for the web-based version of its popular calendar app.
Offline Google Calendar
Google announced the change on the Google Workspace Updates site, and it sounds quite useful. It’ll let you view your events from the previous four weeks and any events in the future.
The offline feature will only work if you’re using Google Chrome. Other browsers will be left out of this one. Additionally, the feature is turned off by default for users, so you’ll need to turn it on manually (once it’s available). For domain admins, the feature is on automatically, so it’ll be up to the users whether they want to turn it on.
To enable the feature, you’ll need to go to Settings, then navigate to Offline, and finally, check the box next to Turn on offline calendar.
When Can You Use Google Calendar Offline?
Google is rolling the feature out for admins for both Rapid and Scheduled Release domains today. That means companies can start using it now.
For the rest of us, the offline calendar feature is expected to roll out on January 25.
