Anker Introduces an Affordable, AI-Enabled Webcam for Home Offices

Delta Online News

Anker is expanding its growing lineup of home office devices to include the PowerConf C300, a smart 1080p webcam that comes equipped with an AI chipset. Despite the fancy-sounding specs, this webcam will cost you just $ 130.

Anker’s First Affordable Webcam Is Here

Anker introduced the PowerConf C300 in a press release posted on PR Newswire. The webcam allows for three field of view adjustments—you can start at 78-degrees for a professional close-up, expand a little more with a 90-degree mid-view, or try a 115-degree view to incorporate a large portion of your background.

The smallest field of view would obviously be most appropriate for an important business meeting, while the widest field of view could come in handy if you’re video chatting with friends and family, and you want to show off your pets or your home.

And since the C300 is AI-powered, it will automatically ensure that you (or a group of people) stay centered in the frame. Anker notes that it will only “reframe a subject’s deliberate movement,” and will expand or shrink to fit the number of people you have on screen.

The dual stereo microphones also guarantee great sound quality. Not to mention that the Active Noise Cancellation feature prevents noisy kids and loud cars from interrupting your video call.

The C300 also comes with a handy feature to detect less-than-ideal lighting situations. Automatic low-light correction can instantly brighten your video and will ensure that you’re still clearly visible. The ability to shoot in 1080p at 60 frames-per-second is a plus as well.

Where to Buy the PowerConf C300 Webcam

Anker’s PowerConf C300 is currently available for purchase from Anker’s website or from Amazon. Despite having a slew of fantastic features, you can only expect to pay $ 130.

Aside from the C300, Anker also announced the PowerConf S500 Portable Conference Speaker. The S500 features Voice Radar technology to drown out any sounds other than the speaker’s voice. Anker didn’t provide any details about its potential release date or price.

Coincidentally, these Anker products were released on the same day that Microsoft dropped its $ 70 Modern Webcam, as well as a new speaker. It seems that the two will have to duke it out for the top spot in home office gadgets.

Can the Anker C300 PowerConf Webcam Compete?

When it comes to webcams, Anker faces tough competition from Microsoft and Logitech. Although Anker may be known for its array of chargers and power stations, its new webcam may give it the push it needs to make a name for itself in the home office market.
