The first update to iOS and iPadOS 15 is here. And it's an especially important download to grab if you own an iPhone 13 and Apple Watch.
We'll fill you in on all of the bug fixes in iOS and iPadOS 15.0.1.
Three Bug Fixes in iOS and iPadOS 15.0.1
The most notable bug fix in iOS 15.0.1 deals with an issue that has plagued iPhone 13 users with an Apple Watch.
When many tried to use the Unlock with Apple Watch feature that bypasses Face ID when wearing a mask, an error message would appear saying "Unable to Communicate with Apple Watch."
Originally arriving in iOS 14.5, the great feature allows anyone with a Face ID-enabled iPhone to use their Apple Watch to unlock their phone instead of having to pull a mask down or enter a passcode.
Many annoyed users took to social media to voice their displeasure as the feature was well-received in the age of the COVID-19 pandemic. But now the issue has been fixed with this update.
The two other bug fixes are for both the iPhone and iPad. The update fixes an issue where the Settings app may incorrectly show an alert that storage is full. It also fixes a problem where audio meditations could unexpectedly start a workout on an Apple Watch for Apple Fitness+ subscribers.
To download the iOS 15.0.1 update on your iPhone or iPad, head to Settings > General > Software Update.
Get Back to Using Unlock With Apple Watch
Especially for anyone with an Apple Watch and iPhone 13 the iOS 15.0.1 update is a welcome relief, as it fixed that nagging issue with using Unlock With Apple Watch.
Potential buyers are definitely hoping that there won't be any issues with the Apple Watch Series 7 when it arrives this fall.
