Microsoft has discontinued the Kinect Adapter, effectively killing the already-pretty-dead Kinect peripheral. The Kinect Adapter is the USB accessory required to connect a Kinect to the Xbox One S, Xbox One X, or a Windows PC. So if you want one, you had better buy one while stocks last. The Kinect was originally released in 2010 as Microsoft’s answer to the Wii motion controls. Microsoft believed in the technology enough to bundle it with the Xbox One when it first arrived in 2013.
